Vintage Folk Art Cardigan Red Southwestern Cardigan Beautiful novelty sweater, folk art cardigan features two people on either side of the front.  People have braided tassels representing their hair, and are shown with hats, ponchos, and pottery.
This sweater has no tags, so I do not know where it was manufactured or what it is made from.
The knit feels like acrylic or an acrylic blend.  The style reminds me of many of the Peruvian or Ecuadorian made sweaters that are so unique in their folk art styles.  This also reminds me of a much more modern version of the Mexican souvenir sweaters of the 40's.
This sweater does have some stains on it, shown in photos.  It has been machine washed and the stains did not come out - but it was not specially treated for the stains at all. They are around the placket and on one sleeve.  There is also a pull in one sleeve.  It has not created a hole, but it has pulled the knit wider apart.  Its noticeable really only if you are stressing it (shown in photos as well). There is no size tag, but measurements put this between a medium and large.  If you wear a medium, this may be a bit roomy on you; if you wear a large, this may be a bit fitted.  Measurements are taken across the outside of the garment while it is laid flat.
