The art of Meenakari, or Meena Kari or Mina Kari is
an art of painting or embellishing various types of metals with bright
colors
in dramatic motifs of birds, flowers and leaves
. There are various kinds of Meenakari work depending on whether the enamel is to appear opaque, transparent or translucent.
Meena literally means enameling in Hindi
The art of enameling metal for ornamental reasons has been traced back to the Parthian and Sassanid period of Iranian history. The meticulous work seen today can be traced to Iran around the 15th century. The Moghuls introduced it into India and perfected the technique makin the design applied more intricate.

There is a small thin 14k layer of gold applied around the rim where the stone sits (gold plating)
The center stone is blue iolite - cabochon cut - oval
A WORD OF CAUTION ABOUT ENAMILING:
- Always remove your ring when washing your hands (no dishwashing, no harsh soap products, no shampoo etc.)
- DO NOT HANDLE HARSH OR ABRASIVE products when wearing the ring - the enamel will fade and the gold plating will be removed.
- Do not drop the ring (the enamel will break or crack)

PLEASE CHECK RING FOR SCALE (SIZE) next to an US quarter coin, with the measuring tape (in inches), on my fingers and hands (I am female). Compare the measurements to a ring you own.

to read the measurements and the weight IS YOUR FAULT not mine (nor is it a valid reason for a return - I am very clear about this).  I give precise information but you must read and do your due diligence. It is not my fault if a) the ring does not fit you or b) you didn't read the entire text. If you cannot visualize 1 cm then please use a measuring tape.

Size:
- 9.25 US BUT BUT BUT due to the large face ring fits maximum 7.5 - to 7.75 US (I usually wear a 7.25 and it sits comfortably albeit a bit loose on my ring finger). I can squeeze it on my middle finger (size 8) but it is a bit tight.

Colors:
- Color perception is very personal -
Besides our individual biological make up, color perception is less about seeing what is actually out there and more about how our brain interprets colors to create something meaningful. The perception of color
mainly occurs inside our heads
and so is subjective—and prone to personal experience.
- I am VERY clear about this:
I absolutely do not give nor do I imply any guarantees that you will perceive the ring the same color than I do. Nor do I guarantee that the color will display the same way on your screen than on mine.
- Iolite ring is blue - looks lighter in the sun (its not a very dark blue) and darker in the shade (I took pictures in both instances to show you the difference).
Pictures were taken by me with an Iph*ne.  No enhancements were made and no filters were used. Remember the sun brightens everything.

Iolite ring is not a flawless stone nor is it an investment. It is a lovely gemstone in a beautiful unusual ring. Please be realistic.
